This liquid extract is created by first soaking wild-crafted turkey tail mushrooms in 43% alcohol for a minimum of four weeks. The turkey tail pieces are then removed from the alcohol and gently simmered in non-chlorinated water for 2-4 hours. Finally, the tincture and hot-water extractions are filtered and combined to create a potent elixir of bio-available compounds with a total alcohol content of 30%.

About Turkey tail
If the name of this mushroom wasn’t obvious enough, it very much looks like a turkey’s tail. With bands of different colors ranging from white, light brown, dark brown, black, purple(ish) and sometimes even green on this fan shaped, polypore bracket fungus that grows in rosette-like clusters. The latin name for this mushroom is Coriolus versicolor, meaning “of several colors”. This wide spread fungus can be found in most places around the world and can be identified in the wild with relative ease.
Turkey tail is the most researched and studied medicinal mushroom in western medicine for its potential as an adjunctive treatment for cancer therapy. This is because of two novel polysaccharides found in turkey tail know as polysaccharide peptide(PSP) and polysaccharide krestin (PSK) first found and isolated from mycelium cultures.
